From Blytheville Elementary School assistant principal Shayla Adelowo,
“Blytheville School District students and families,
We realize that our students miss their teachers and we certainly do miss them. We also realize that our students are out of normalcy, and want to reassure them that although it's a new normal it's going to be OK. Therefore, we have organized a parade to lift our students’ spirits by providing a chance for them to connect with their teachers and other school officials during the COVID-19 crisis. We will drive through the neighborhoods honking and waving to students and parents as they wave to us.
“We can still practice safe social distance with families in driveways, on porches or watching through windows and us in vehicles. Please do not allow students to stand in the streets, as safety is always our first priority.”
