Band is an amazing thing; the threshold of proficiency is so high, that it strives for continuation of study and hard work. That is one of the best things about music; you can always strive for more. Several ensembles will be competing next week, the wind ensemble on Friday, March 8th at 8:00 pm, and the middle school band on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 am.
Pictured are band members who recently had practice to prepare for the upcoming event. The 7th and 8th grade middle school band and the high school wind ensemble performed their selections for Concert and Sight Reading Assessment that will be held next week. The middle school band is under the direction of Mr. Bobby Coyle, and the wind ensemble is under the direction of Mrs. Janet Rooney. The Pre-Festival Concert was a chance for both groups to perform for the public. There were also two for professional judges in the audience which wrote comments for each group, instructing them to work on specific playing techniques. We invite our awesome community to come out and support us.
